Our Story

Urban Farmer Steve, LLC, is a family owned urban farm located in Cherry Hill, NJ. We specialize in growing hyper-local, consistently fresh microgreens, herbs, and edible flowers for the South Jersey and Philadelphia Area.

We produce living whole foods because of their superior health benefits and delicious flavor. All of our greens are grown using organic farming methods and are chemical and pesticide free.

Our Mission is to provide quality, consistent, local produce to our community all year round, while improving health and sustainability.

Meet the Farmer

Steve is a former Army officer and combat veteran that served in the Army from 2001-2010. He is a Rutgers University Alumni and has served in various roles for the Federal Government.

Steve has also completed the Veterans to Farmers program in Denver, Colorado which helps Veterans assimilate effectively, productively and permanently into private citizenry by training them in various types of agricultural practices and typically leads to careers in farming or business ownership.

“During the pandemic I started to realized the lack of fresh, local produce on the shelves and it was frustrating. So I started to research ways to produce food in urban areas.”

“Technological Advances have changed the way we can produce food. Controlled Environment Agriculture is changing the way that farming has been traditionally practiced. In urban areas, it is essential to providing healthy, year round sustainable food options for areas with high populations.”

Meet Kisha

Kisha is excited to team up with her siblings at UFS. She is passionate about growing fresh produce for our communities in South Jersey and beyond. Kisha started her career as a teacher for over 5 years, but her journey took a turn into the world of acting, where she shines as an award-winning actress and can be seen in hit shows like "Manifest" and "You."

Kisha is also a proud plant mom. Her home has over 30 houseplants, each one adding a bit of green joy to her life. When her brother Steve shared the UFS mission, it was a no-brainer  - combining her love for plants with a cause close to her heart.

Got greens? Kisha sure does, and she's ready to make a difference with UFS!

Meet Davina

Davina’s story is one of deep-rooted passion for service and community. After obtaining her MA in Human Services, she started working as a case manager and eventually advanced into a leadership role serving at-risk individuals in low-income communities. She is excited to join her family in fulfilling the mission of UFS, and having the opportunity to help provide access to local, organic produce, while helping to make a positive impact.

Davina currently works as a photographer capturing newly engaged couples, weddings, families, and events. She envisions her photography work as a means to capture authentic moments and timeless memories. Davina looks forward to using her photography skills to capture the spirit of UFS’s mission and evolution of their story.
